why should you check/ monitor external entrances?
prevents anyone gaining access to the setting that shouldn’t be there

prevents anyone else gaining access to the setting

to control who enters and leaves the setting

to control who enters the setting- to make sure children leave with authorised people

so they can be easily identified, also to prevent anyone being in the setting that shouldn’t be

so you can easily identify authorised and unauthorsied people
why should there be CCTV?
to monitor who enters and leaves the setting and when. Also makes sure only authorised people are entering
why should there be window/door locks?
to prevent anyone climbing in or out of the setting
why should staff be on duty outside in a nursery?
to monitor the children to make sure no-one will gaining access and to keep the children safe
in a nursery- why should there be a list/password on who can collect the child?
to ensure no-one unauthorsied takes the child
why should staff have DBS/ CRB checks?
to ensure they have no convictions so the children aren’t at risk
why should there be alarms installed?
informs anyone of unauthorised activity
