Q

What do you use to look at magnetic field patterns? Why do you use them?

A

Compasses and iron filings. They Align themselves with magnetic fields.

Place magnet under piece of paper. Scatter iron filings. Shows magnetic fields.

Use multiple compasses to see magnetic fields.

Q

What happens to a magnetic material when close to magnet.

A

It becomes magnetically induced.

If the object is far there is little induced magnetism.

If it is close to the magnet it is close the magnetic material becomes magnetism induces.
