1938 provided workers with additional rights by
establishing a minimum wage, maximum workweek and
outlawing child labor!
AFL
American Federation of Labor represented skilled workers such as plumbers, carpenters, and electricians who joined trade or craft unions
CIO
Congress of Industrial Organizations organized by John L. Lewis the workers it represented were lower paid and ethnically more diverse than those workers represented by the AFL

provided artists with more work opportunities

encouraged the practice of native languages, religions, and traditional customs
Indian Reorganization Act
restored tribal control over Native American land
Navajo Livestock Reduction Program
mandated that the Navajo sell or kill thousands of sheep because the federal authorities thought that the sheep were causing soil erosion on the Colorado Plateau
