Q

What stimulates the production of insulin in the pancreas?

A

Rising blood glucose concentration

17
Q

Why do we need insulin for digestion?

A

When we eat food our blood glucose concentration increases, the pancreas then releases insulin to help decrease the blood glucose concentration. Our liver then changes this excess glucose to glycogen and our blood glucose concentration returns to normal.

Q

What is type 1 diabetes?
