Q

Why is the source critical?

A

Shows leaders disagreeing about SALT talks to the detriment of everyday people- the tax payers in their respective countries.
Shows risks of brinkmanship as weapons are stacked very haphazardly- coming close to nuclear war but they can’t work together to do anything about it.
Suggests that cooperation is needed for everyone to benefit and that maybe detente isn’t going as well as expected.
