S typhi survives through passage through stomach and reach intestines. Invades and destroys human colonic mucosa.
Invade intestinal M cells and enter submucosa, engulfed by macrophages
S typhi multiply in macrophage iin lymph nodes and induce apoptosis
Lead to bloodstream and cause enteric fever
Treatment
Ciprofloxacin
Cephalosporins
Azithromycin
