A

A sacrament is a holy ordinance [order which the church observes] instituted by Christ; wherein, by sensible signs, Christ, and the benefits of the new covenant, are represented, sealed, and applied to believers (Matt. 26:26–28; 28:19; 1 Cor. 10:16–17; Gal. 3:27).
