Regular, irregular and free metre

What is regular metre?
A
1) same patten of beats with each beat the same length
2) time signatures are simple or compound
3) with two equal beats it is known as duple metre and with three equal beats is triple metre, 4 quadruple, etc.

What is irregular metre?
A
beats grouped in a different way. The time signature will have numbers such as 5, 7, 10 or 11 and are grouped in twos, threes or fours.
