Rod Control Flashcards
Describe the 100 step overlap.
The rods have 228 steps. when the bank is pulled out 128 steps the next step out the next bank will start moving with it. Only if the control switch is in auto or manual.
What is the normal and backup control power supplies to the power cabinet?
Normal - is Phase A off of the Output of the MG sets through a step down transformer that steps it down from 260vac to 120vac.
Backup - is from CRP 3.
What are the trips of the M/G set supply breakers?
Control switch. Load shed. Load conservation. Over current. Trip push button. NOT A REACTOR TRIP
What train reactor trip bypass breaker B?
Train A
What train is reactor trip bypass breaker A?
Train B.
How does the reactor tip breakers ensure a reactor trip.
They are in series, if either trains get a trip signal, it breaks the power supply.
What is the purpose of the reactor trip bypass breakers?
To allow us to test the trip breakers on line.
What is the logic cabinet for?
It serves all 5 power cabinets.
Provides the brains for rod control movement (direction, speed, overlap)
What are the logic cabinet alarms / Indicator lights?
Urgent failure - can’t move rods.
Non-Urgent failure - power supply failure.
Power on - power from 5kva transformer.
What are the power cabinets for?
Converts 3 phase AC from MG sets to DC to energize CRDM coils.
It receives signal from the logic cabinet.
What are the Alarms / Indicator lights on the power cabinets?
Power on
Urgent failure
Power supply failure.
Group indicating
Describe control bank speed.
IN AUTO
1.5* to 3* deviation in Auctioneered T-ave to T-ref. 8 steps per min.
3* to 5* they ramp from 8 to 72 spm
5+ degree deviation in Auctioneered T-ave to T-ref. 72 spm
IN MANUAL
they move 48 spm.
Shutdown banks rod speed
62 spm.
What feeds T-ave
T-hot and T-cold
What feeds T-ref
Turbine first stage impulse pressure
