a natural material whose concentration of economically valuable minerals is high enough for the material to be mined profitably
Metallic minerals
shiny surfaces and do not let light pass through them
Non-metallic minerals
shiny or dull surfaces and may let light pass through them
Gemstones
a precious or semiprecious stone, especially one cut, polished, and used in a piece of jewelry.
