Periarticular erosions
Soft tissue swellings

DMARD therapy within 3 months of symptom onset
First line = methotrexate
Second line = sulphasalazine
Simple analgesia
NSAIDs
Steroids
If 2 DMARDs have been tried and there is still high disease activity then biologics
