What are Retinal Detachment Causes:
Commonly happen with blood force trauma to the head.
For example being hit in the head with a baseball bat or even being in a car accident.
Patho for retinal detachment?
Detachment or separation of the RETINA. Resulting in a loss of vision.
Signs and symptoms of Retinal Detachment?
-Hairnet like vision (Priority) report to the HCP since the patient can become blind. Other phrases used to describe this
“Curtain- like half vision loss”
-“Floaters & cobweb looking vision”
-“Flashes of light”
Diabetic retinopathy. Must think curtains vision or half vision.
Save life or save limb.

When we send clients home
-avoid all the pressure here.
-AVOID straining on the toilet (NO constipation)
-AVOID Rubing or scratching the eyes
-AVOID eye straining activity like reading TV or computers
REPORT:
-“Sudden””new” vision loss, pain, flashing light.
