Q

What mechanisms regulate body fluid comparments?

Both up and down

A
  1. Osmolality HYPOTHALAMUS. If the osmolality is too high then ADH is released and vice versa
  2. Volume - Baroreceptors in the aortic arch and carotid sinus measure BP. If it is too low then the aldosterone pathway is initiated. If it is too high then ANP is released
