POSITIVES=as locals had to bid it made the scheme more successful

  • local councils and residents were more involved in the schemes
  • over 40,000 homes have been improved and 53,000 jobs created

NEGATIVES= competition forced neighbours to compete rather than work together

  • some money should have been allocated on need rather than competitive advantages
  • areas which previously received funding no longer receive funding and their bids were unsuccessful
