a 14 year old Canadian who was murdered by 2 individuals, but was beat by a group of 8 teens before her death. her parents were immigrants from India and in an effort to rebel she make false claims that her father was molesting her in order to stay in foster care to have more freedom

What is the weird part of this case?
the teenagers who beat her up were who she thought were her friends and they left Reena there after the beating. Reena was on her way home when she got killed
Nicole Cook was the girl who put out the cigarette on Reenas forhead, what was something that she believes years after the murder?
that she wasn’t responsible for the murder because she did not do it herself. But if the beating hadn’t taken place, would the murder have happened?
