What is the initial imaging modality for spine evaluation?
Xray with two views - frontal and lateral.
When do you use CT for spine evaluation?
When evaluation a trauma - can also add contrast to evaluate nerve roots.
What is the best modality for evaluation spinal cord, discs, tumor and infection?
MRI
Where is contrast injected for outlining the spinal cord?
The thecal sac.
What do you do in an MRI to see cord and CSF?
Nothing - you can see it without contrast. This is what makes MRI such a great modality for evaluating spine trauma.

Does CT or MRI give radiation?
CT has high levels MRI has none.
