How do you determine the tempo of a piece of music?
- Use a stopwatch. Time 11 beats.
- Repeat this timing 3 times and then take the average timings.
- Take the number and multiply it by 100 to get MPB
- divide 60,000 by your number and the result is the tempo in beats per minute. BPM
