Q

Describe Vertical and Horizontal Integration in 2 sentences apiece. Also provide an example of both.

A

Horizontal Integration is when a company owns a similar company. This means the two companies are alike in many ways and can be used to work together. Vertical Integrations is when someone owns their supply chain. This means that companies who own their chain of supply is Vertical Integration because they are supplying the things they need to make their company strive. An example of Horizontal Integration would be if Verizon bought AT&T, which are both phone networks. An example of a Vertical Integration would be if a coffee shop planted their own coffee grain trees to produce their own coffee grains for the coffee.
