RULING: Safety, two points for team B. Team A F/K @ A-20. The ball is dead as soon as A recovers in the end zone.
A 4/4 @ B-40. Team A’s punt bounces towards the end zone. A45 bats the ball at the B-2 directly into the leg of B88 at the B-5. The ball deflects into the end zone where it is recovered by A11. During the kick, B17 is flagged for holding at the B-24.
RULING: B 1/10 @ B-10, snap/25. The forced touching by B is disregarded resulting in a touchback. Penalty will be enforced from touchback spot.
A 4/4 @ B-40. Team A’s high punt is caught by A23 at the B-1 where his momentum carries him into the end zone. A23 shovels the ball with two hands back into the field of play. There is no whistle by the officials and B88 picks up the loose ball at the B-2 advancing to the B-20 where he is tackled by the facemask by A45.
RULING: B 1/10 @ B-16, snap/25. Play is dead when A catches the ball. The penalty is enforced from the dead ball spot.
A 4/1 @ B-36. QB A1 under center receives the handoff and pitches the ball backwards to A22 who muffs the pitch at the B-40. The loose ball hits A22’s foot and rolls forward to the
B-34 where it is recovered by A79.
RULING: A 1/10 @ B-34, running/40. The ball is not a fumble so it belongs to Team A where downed. The 4th down fumble rule does NOT apply to a backwards pass. The clock should not stop.
A 3/10 @ B-22. Q4 after the two-minute timeout. Score A14-B17. QB A18’s pass is intercepted and returned to the B-30. Just after releasing the pass, B94 hits A18 with
forcible contact below the knees at the B-28. After the play, A64 is flagged for a late hit at the B-30.
RULING: A 1/10 @ B-26, snap or RFP option/25. Enforce both penalties – live ball foul for RPS and dead ball foul UNR/LTO.
A 3/3 @ A-30. QB A1 under center receives the handoff, retreats backwards, and gives the ball to A2 at the A-27 who runs one yard to A-28 and tosses it back to A1 at the A-23 (flea flicker play). Unable to find any open receivers and under duress, A1 rolls to the right outside the tackle box at the A-23 and throws the ball that crosses the LOS into an area with
no receivers.
RULING: ING, A 4/10 @ A-23, snap/25. Because the passer relinquishes possession during the play, there must be a receiver in the area.
A 4/10 @ A-35, Team A’s punt hits the ground and appears to graze A88’s leg @ B-43. B6 dives for the ball and muffs it. Anticipating a recovery, an official sounds their whistle while
the ball is loose. While grounded and in immediate action after the inadvertent whistle, A23 recovers the ball at the B-45. The ruling on the field is that the ball did NOT touch A88. Video evidence shows that the ball touched A88.
RULING: Reviewable; B 1/10 @ B-43, snap/25. If replay cannot establish that the ball touched A88, it would be A 1/10 @ B-45, snap/25.
A 3/5 @ A-6. Fourth quarter 2:11. QB A12 drops back to pass in the end zone. Under duress and beginning to be tackled in the end zone, A12 reaches the ball out across the goal line. The officials rule the ball is entirely out the end zone at the A-½ yard line when A12 is ruled down. The game clock reads 1:58. Replay determines A12 was down by rule in the end zone with the back end of the ball touching the goal line with 2:03 on the game clock.
RULING: Safety, two points for B. Team A F/K @ A-20. 1:58 on game clock. No reset of the clock since it was before the two-minute time out.
