Q
At a large protracted incident you have been asked to report to the BA sector commander as they are looking for someone to assist with one of their responsibilities for the welfare of BA teams so they have asked you to start to set up a welfare area. Where would you set this up and why is it important to have a rest and recuperation area for BA wearers?
A
- Rear and recovery area should be set up adjacent or as near as possible to command vehicle/unit or command support area if established. In any case it should be clean, cool and dry.
- At an incident where the incident are likely to be arduous and long considerations should be given to establish a rest and recovery area.
- In order to optimise performance and safety of the BA wearers adequate rest and rehydration should be provided.
