Q

You have been mobilised to a house fire and you are the second pump in attendance, the IC on the first pump has deployed 2 BA under rapid deployment and you’ve been asked to take over the BA control board, what would be your actions and what circumstances would lead to the BA being committed under rapid deployment?

A
  1. Record time take over ECO board.
  2. Will not remove tally’s
  3. Will use rapid deployment clock to confirm the time they entered risk area.
  4. Work out time of whistle.
  5. Get comms to confirm location and make not on remarks.
  6. Write rapid deployment on remarks.
  7. Not reset the rapid deployment clock until the crew has been withdrawn

Reasons for:
1. Risk/reward benefit following risk assessment from IC
2. Opportunity to preserve life or take action to prevent deterioration at the incident.
3. Stage 1 to be implemented as soon as possible.
