Mental disorder
A behavioral or psychological syndrome that shows an underlying mental health issue.
Mental illness
Reduced ability to function and is associated with dysfunction and impaired functioning over an extended period
Anxiety
Feeling of apprehension and dread
Can lead to
asthmatic attacks, digestive disorders, hypertension, heart attacks, immune disorders
Anxiety disorders
GAD, panic attacks, panic disorder, phobias
GAD
Excessive or unrealistic apprehension causes physical symptoms.
6months or longer
Panic attacks
Heart immediately start racing, light headed or dizzy
Happens in 10 minutes then they dread for another one
Panic disorder
Panic attacks recur or person thinks about them and the person cannot function normally.
