אשרי־האיש אשר ׀ לא הלך בעצת רשעים ובדרך חטאים לא עמד ובמושב לצים לא ישב׃
2:1-2
Why do the nations conspire and the peoples plot in vain? The kings of the earth take their stand and the rulers gather together against the LORD and against his anointed one.

But you, LORD, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high.

In your anger do not sin; when you are on your beds, search your hearts and be silent.

The arrogant cannot stand in your presence. You hate all who do wrong.

My soul is in anguish. How long, LORD, how long?

God is a righteous judge, a God who expresses his wrath every day.

What is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him?

The LORD is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.

In his pride the wicked does not seek him; in all his thoughts there is no room for God.

The LORD is in his holy temple; the LORD is on his heavenly throne.

And the words of the LORD are flawless, like silver refined in a furnace of clay, purified seven times.

It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect.

The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge. They is no speech where their voice is not heard. Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world.

Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.

Surely you have granted him eternal blessings and made him glad with the joy of your presence.

Ascribe to the LORD, o mighty ones, ascribe to the LORD glory and strength. Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name; worship the LORD in the splendor of his holiness.

Weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.

Into your hands I commit my spirit; redeem me, LORD, the God of truth.
