The purpose of the Directing a Project process is to enable the Project Board to be accountable for the project by making key decisions, to have overall control and delegate day-to-day management of the project to the Project Manager.

What is the purpose of the managing a stage boundary process?
The Project Manager has to provide the Project Board with an overview of the Progress of the current stage, update the Project Plan and Business Case , and create a Stage Plan for the next stage.
This will allow the project board to review the current stage and approve the next stage.
