SPOV
O = FITT
What does S stand for ?
Specificity
Training must be relevant to chosen sport
What does P stand for ?
Progression
Training must change gradually, without injuring performer
What does O stand for ?
Overload
Training must increase gradual by using FITT
What does V stand for ?
Variety
You change your training plan up, so the the trainee doesn’t get bored of the plan
What does F stand for ?
Frequency
You need to change the amount of times you trading e.g. 1 time a week to 3 times a week
What does I stand for ?
Intensity
Increase your plan to a tougher level e.g. you increase the weight if your doing weight training
What does T stand for ?
Time
You do your plan/exercise for a longer duration e.g. you run on the treadmill for 15 minutes longer than usual
What does T stand for ?
Type
Similar to Variety, you change the type of training you do so you don’t get bored of your original plan
