Danger
Identify risks to yourself and others such as infection (PPE), clutter, spills and aggressive individuals
What does the R in DRsABCDE stand for and what does it involved?
Response
Is the patient responsive?
* Speak loudly and clearly
* Ask the patient to open their eyes
* Squeeze their should
No response = attempt painful stimulus (trapezius, supraorbital, sternum, nail bed)

Send for help
Can do so at any point during assessment
Do not leave the patient
Use the call button or shout for help
What does the A in DRsABCDE stand for and what does it involved?
Airway
Can be open, threatened or blocked
Can the patient speak? Is their signs of choking?

Are the breathing?
