15th US President, first president before the Civil War was not married, only president from Pennsylvania
Andrew Jackson
Became a hero after the Battle of New Orleans (last battle of the war of 1812), later became president, was seen as the people’s president, portrayed himself as a man of humble origins, started the process of replacing cabinet members, with his power he did what HE wanted to do - Trail of tears, US Bank Crisis
Thomas Jefferson
3rd president, not very good at handling money, pro-France, President during the Louisiana Purchase and during the Lewis and Clark Expedition
Abraham Lincoln
16th president of US, president during the civil war, created Emancipation proclamation (freed slaves in states that had seceded) got assassinated by John Wilkes Booth in theatre
James Madison
4th president of the US, president during the War of 1812, not seen as a strong leader
James K. Polk
11th President, last strong pre-civil war known for foreign policy success.
Zachary Taylor
12th President, became president because of his performance in the Mexican-American War, despite vague political beliefs, he wished to preserve the union.
George Washington
Virginian Leader, first president of the US, did not want political parties, gave up power willingly, set standards & precedents for future presidents that are still followed today!
