How do you fill your car with gas?
- Park in the gas station 1 metre away from the gas pumps so that the back side of the car is opposite the pumps.
- Engine off
- Take keys with you
- On the back side of the car, find the fuel cap and open it
- Pick which gas your car runs on
- Keep the pump upright when holding it
- Insert the pump in the fuel hole all the way and lightly squeeze the silver hand pedal to release the fuel as how hard you squeeze controls the intensity of the flow of the gas.
- Look at the monitor on top of the pumps to see how much you will be paying, the amount of litres you inserted and pence paid per ltr.
- Keep pressing until it clicks and the gas will stop by itself. If the pump was inserted correctly, it wont overflow once full.
- Once it clicks, slightly pull it out so that most of the nozzle is inside the gas hole, shake the nozzle a bit while in that position and while carefully pulling out, tilt the pump upright to avoid spilling onto the car.
- Put the pump back on its station and it will turn the pump motor off
- On the monitor, there should be a marked number to the side of the digital display. Make mental note of that number
- Close the car fuel cap
- Go into the store and tell the cashier ‘‘I am paying for number _.’’
You want to turn right into a T junction. Where should the car be positioned at the point of turning?
(See Fig.29) The front of your car should align just behind with the centre of the road you are about to turn into.
You have just turned into a new road. What do you do?
- turn off indicator
- Check middle and right mirror
What does MSPSL stand for? Envision how the car is positioned on the road with each step.

When is MSPSL used?
Should be used every time that you approach a junction, roundabouts and traffic lights.
When turning into a road, how much do you need to turn the wheel on average?
Half way. turn until the top of the wheel is at the bottom of the wheel
Picture your reference point of where the kerb should be intersecting with when pulling up to park on the side of the road.
(See Fig.31) on the right of the three dots on the windscreen wipers
How can you adjust your seat so that you are comfortable driving?
- you can pull a leaver under your seat to push the seat more forward or back. You should not have to stretch to push the break pedal all the way
- you can pull a leaver on the right further back side of your seat to change the angle of the back rest of the chair
- You can pull the steering wheel closer or further away from you. when grabbing the top part of the wheel with both hands you should not be stretching your arms.
When adjusting your mirrors, what should they reflect?
(See Fig.32)
Tell me how you make sure your head restraint is correctly adjusted so it provides the best protection in the event of a crash.
The head restraint should be adjusted so the rigid part of the head restraint is at least as high as the eye or top of the ears, and as close to the back of the head as is comfortable. Note: Some restraints might not be adjustable.
Tell me how you’d check the tyres to ensure that they have sufficient tread depth and that their general condition is safe to use on the road.
- No cuts and bulges
- 1.6mm of tread depth across the central three-quarters of the breadth of the tyre, and around the entire outer circumference of the tyre.
Envision where do you check for tyre tread depth
(See Fig.33)
