Describe Insert, edit, delete and format text
Text can be inserted, deleted and easily edited. This text can be formatted
using different fonts, sizes and styles. For example, they can be emboldened,
put in italics and the colour changed to emphasise or draw attention to the
text.
Describe Graphics
These can be inserted using the internet, scanned or uploaded. These
graphics can be formatted by cropping them or adding a border. These can be
alongside text to put a point across. These make the presentation more visual
for the reader.
Describe Animations
o Can be used on text or objects to make the presentation more interesting and
have emphasis on a particular point. Text/objects can be set to appear,
change on, or leave the screen in a variety of ways when clicking the mouse
or keyboard. For example, fading in, flying out.
Describe Transitions
Make the change from one slide to another more eye catching for the
audience. For example, the first slide could be set to fade away and the
second can be revealed slowly.
Describe Slide and handout footer
Used to display dates, slide numbers or an appropriate graphic such as a logo.
Makes the presentation look professional.
Describe Charts/Graphs/tables
Allows numerical information to be clearly displayed. These can be created in the
presentation or using another software (spreadsheets/databases) and inserted. It
allows information to be shown clearly, and trends identified.
Describe Background design
Certain slides or the whole presentation can be coloured or be given a background
‘theme’ which often matches the content of the presentation e.g. using a colour
scheme that matches the school colours if creating a presentation about the school.
Describe Slide format Printing
one slide per page, selected slides only can be printed as well as the full
presentation.
Describe Handout format
multiple slides on one page, the number of slides on each page can be chosen,
some options can include areas for note taking.
Describe Full page with notes
printout includes all slides plus an area for any notes the creator has written on each
slide.
Describe Outline format
does not show the slides themselves but creates a broken-down printout including
each slide number and the text included on that slide.
Describe Actions buttons used in slide master
Built in chapes that can be added to a presentation to make an action occur when it
is clicked on e.g. move to next slide.
