Positive, Negative, Conditioned And Unconditioned Reinforcement Flashcards
Negative punishment=
Behavior decreases
Positive punishment =
Behavior decreases
Positive reinforcement=
Behavior increases
Negative reinforcement=
Behavior increases
Unconditioned reinforcer
Does not have to be learned
Generalized conditioned reinforcers
Reinforcers that have been associated with various behaviors or access to backup reinforcers, which may be either primary or secondary reinforcers
Generalized conditioned reinforcers are
Less vulnerable to satiation bc they can be exchanged for a variety of reinforcers. They are not necessarily more or less powerful then primary reinforcers
If an antecedent consistently evokes a behavior
It provides support for a functional relationship, stimulus control, and an establishing operation being in effect
Demonstrated
An experimentally validated relation between the independent variable and the dependent variable
Established or caused
An experimentally validated demonstration that ONLY the independent variable could bring about the change in the dependent variable (very difficult to establish)
