Consonance
Repetition of internal or ending consonant sounds of words close together
e.g. ‘I dropped the loCKet in the thiCK mud’
Repetition
- repeats the same words or phrases a few times to make an idea clearer
- also a rhetorical device
Metaphor
- metaphor is a figure of speech which makes an implicit, implied or hidden comparison between two things or objects that are poles apart from each other but have some characteristics common between them
Superlative
- superlative is usually an adjective or adverb used to distinguish an object from three or more others of its type
ephemeral
lasting for a very short time
metonymy
the substitution of the name of an attribute or adjunct for that of the thing meant, for example suit for business executive, or the turf for horse racing.
pervade
(especially of a smell) spread through and be perceived in every part of.
“a smell of stale cabbage pervaded the air”
impervious
unable to be affected by
liminality
A liminal space is a blurry boundary zone between two established and clear spatial areas, and a liminal moment is a blurry boundary period between two segments of time.

resembling or relating to twilight
prevalent
widespread in a particular area or at a particular time.

synthesis
the combination of components or elements to form a connected whole.
gravitas
dignity, seriousness, or solemnity of manner.
Homeoteleuton
is the repetition of endings in words. Homeoteleuton is also known as near rhyme.
allegory
a story, poem, or picture which can be interpreted to reveal a hidden meaning, typically a moral or political one.
