PMP Glossary E Flashcards
CP or critical path
is the longest sequence of dependent tasks in a project that must be completed on time to ensure the entire project finishes by its planned end date.
Float/Slack
They both represent the amount of time a task can be delayed without affecting subsequent tasks or the overall project completion date.
Free Float:
Free Float: The amount of time a task can be delayed without impacting the start date of any subsequent task.
Total Float (or Total Slack):
Total Float (or Total Slack): The amount of time a task can be delayed without affecting the project’s end date.
Float formula
Float = Late Start - Early Start
or
Float} = Late Finish} - Early Finish
forward pass
is a technique in project scheduling used to calculate the earliest possible start (ES) and earliest possible finish (EF) times for each activity in a project.
backward pass
is a project scheduling technique used to determine the latest possible start (LS) and latest possible finish (LF) times for each activity without delaying the project.
Free Float Formula
= ES of next activity - EF of current activity - 1
Standard Deviation
is a statistical measure used to quantify the amount of variation or dispersion in a set of data points.
it can indicate how much actual outcomes are expected to vary from the average or planned values.
Standard Deviation Formula
