  • march 1571 - ridolfi travelled to the Netherlands to discuss plot with Duke of alba + Philip II
  • ridolfi had a letter signed by the Duke of Norfolk in which Norfolk declared himself a catholic + pledged to lead rebellion with Philip’s support
  • Philip II instructed Duke of alba to prepare 10,000 troops to send across English Channel in support of revolt
