1

Q

How does aspirin aid in inhibiting platelet aggregation?

A

Q

How does dipyridamole inhibit platelet aggregation?

A

Inhibits the breakdown of cyclin AMP (which reduces thromboxane A2 activity)

Q

Why are ADP, thromboxane A2 and cyclic AMP important in inhibiting platelet aggregation?

A

They are all important in the activation of the g-protein iib/iiia receptor. By blocking these factors we are preventing the formatinon of the dimer (receptor) that is fundamental in platelet aggregation.
