When the earths plates split, allowing new crust to form
What is Pangea
Pangea was a large super continent
What is sea-floor spreading?
It’s the idea that the continents move closer/further from eathother
What are plates
Plates are slabs of rock that make up the earths crust
What are convection currents
They are the rising and falling of magma in the mantle due to heat from the core
What are the 3 types of plate boundaries
A destructive/convergent plate boundary, constructive/divergent plate boundary and a transform/passive plate boundary
What do you get from destructive/convergent plate boundaries?
Volcanoes, earthquakes, ocean trenches and fold mountains
What do you get from constructive/divergent plate boundaries?
Volcanoes and mid ocean ridges
What do you get from transform/passive plate boundaries?
Earthquakes and fault lines
