What’s a physical property?
A
A characteristic/description of a substance that can be used to help identify it.

What’s a chemical property
A
Describes the behavior of a substance as it becomes a new substance and it usually involves heat or acid.

What is a quantitative property?
A
Involves a measurement (numerical value) ex- temperature, height, mass, volume, density, solubility

What is a qualitative property?
A
Involves the 5 senses (no measurement) ex- smell, sight, hear, taste, touch

What is a chemical change?
A
A change in the starting substance(s) and the production of 1 or more new substances.

What is evidence of a physical change?
A
- The substance remains the same despite maybe changing form.
- No new substances created.
- Change can be reversed.

- Heat/light given off
- Bubbles/gas formed
- New odour
- Precipitant
