he was working on railroad construction, he suffered a severe accident, a metal rod passed through his skull at high speed, entering left side of brain, he survived but suffered brain damage

ratiu et al studied gage’s skull and used cat scans to determine how the rod damaged his brain. gage suffered extensive damage to his left frontal lobe, explaining why he had severe behavioural changes
