Define Pharmacokinetics
-what the body does to the drug.
e.g metabolism, absorption
Define pharmacodynamics
-what the drug does to the body
e.g binding, drug-receptor, interaction
Define drug
-A chemical substance of known structure, which when administered to a living organism produces a biological effect
Define medicine
usually but not necessarily, contains one or more drugs which is administered with the intention of producing a therapeutic effect
Define therapeutics
use of drugs to diagnose, prevent and treat illness and or pregnancy
-e.g the medical use of drugs
Define formulations
How the drug is packaged. Different chemical substances, including the active drug, are combined to produce a medicine

substances formulated along side of drug
What is a medicinal product?
-Any substance or combination of substances that may be used by or administered to human beings with a view of restoring, correcting or modifying a physiological function by exerting a pharmacological, immunological or metabolic action, or making a medical diagnosis (MHRA)
