Pevlis Evaluation And Adjustment Flashcards
What is Piedau’s test?
Looking for bilaterally even separation of the PSIS and sacral apex during forward flexion —>
Ilium flexion
Sacral counternutation
The sacral base moves posteriorly and the apex moves anteriorly
What results make us suspect dysfunction when using Piedau’s?
We suspect dysfunction on the side where the PSIS moves MORE because the entire ilium is moving to make up for lack of SI motion
Leg Length Eval:
If discrepancy and we bend the knees to 90 degrees what does it mean if:
- LLI disappears
- LLI remains
LLI that disappears is either functional or due to the femur
LLI that persists is tib/fib inequality
Leg Length Eval:
Allis test
Sit up test
What do they mean?
Allis - bend knees to 90 degrees. If one is higher or in front of the other, there is likely a structural inequality in femur or tibia.
Sit up test:
- leg LENGTHENS on the PI side
- leg SHORTENS on the AS side
