An autoimmune disease caused by antibodies against desmoglein 3, a cadherin-type epithelial cell adhesion molecule.

What are the features of pemphigus vulgaris?
A
Mucosal ulceration (50-70% oral involvement)
Skin blistering - flaccid, easily ruptures vesicles and bullae. Painful but not itchy.
