Define abuse
The non-accidently commission of any act, by a caretaker, upon a child under 18 which causes or creates a substantial risk of physical or emotional injury
Define physical injury
Death, fx of bone, subdural hematoma, burns, impairment of any organ, and any other such nontrivial injury
Define sexual abuse
“(A) the employment, use, persuasion, inducement, enticement, or coercion of any child to engage in, or assist any other person to engage in, any sexually explicit conduct or simulation of such conduct for the purpose of producing a visual depiction of such conduct; or (B) the rape, molestation, prostitution, or other form of sexual exploitation of children, or incest with children;…
Define emotional injury
An impairment to or disorder of the intellectual or psychological capacity of a child
Define neglect
Failure by a caretaker, either deliberately, or through negligence or inability to take those actions necessary to provide a child with minimally adequate food, clothing, shelter, medical care, supervision, emotional stability or growth, or other essential care
Define Institutional Neglect or Abuse
Abuse or neglect which occurs in any facility for children, including but not limited to group homes, resendential or public or private schools, hospitals, detention and treatment facilities, family foster care homes, group day care centers and family day care homes

Practice of abandoning one
