Description of the Athena cult statue

A

The temple houses a large statue of Athena made of gold and ivory. It was considered one of the greatest examples of art in the ancient world. The statue was a figure of Athena that stood around 12 metres tall and was primarily made of ivory, with gold accents and entails.
