In May 2022, we watched a recorded version of the National Theatre’s production of Andrea Levy’s, Small Island. Directed by Rufus Norris and performed on the Olivier stage, this epic production adopts a largely, but not solely, naturalistic acting style to successfully bring the experiences of the Windrush generation to life for contemporary audiences.
