42nd CAA (1976) - Froze for 25 years
84th CAA (2001) - Froze for another 25 years

Can LS life be extended under any circumstance?
During National Emergency, by a law of Parliament the life can be extended by 1year and the extension cannot continue beyond 6months after the emergency has ceased

Vacation of Seats
Double Membership
1. Elected to both houses then should inform house of service within 10 days (Default: LS)
2. MP (RS/LS) elected as MP (LS/RS) then initial house becomes vacant
3. MP (LS) from 2 constituencies then should resign from one within 14days else both vacant
4. MP (LS/RS) + MLA (SLA/SLC) then if not resignation in 14 days the MP seat becomes vacant
