- Enveloped viruses
- One piece of single stranded negative sense RNA
- Non-segmented
- Fragile
- Pleomorphic but no filamentous forms
- Loosely packed nucleocaspid
- Contains hemagglutinin glycoprotein
- Parainfluenza and mumps have neuraminidase
- Have F protein which allows membrane fusion activity during replication
