what is embossing?
creating raised or recessed relief images and designs in paper
what is die cutting?
commercially cutting, scoring, perforating and creasing in one action
what is the difference between folding and creasing?
creasing involves making a permanent line whereas folding means to create a shape e.g a box
what is scoring?
making a more exact line by partially cutting the material
what is a perforation?
small cuts in the material that allow for portions to be folded or torn off with good accuracy
what is paper made from?
cellulose fibres derived from plants
what are the sources of cellulose fibres?
flax, hemp, straw, cotton, bamboo, wood
what are the different properties of paper?
