Pancrease Flashcards
What is the exocrine function of the pancreas?
To secrete trypsin, lipase, and amylase through the ductal system
What is the endocrine function of the pancreas?
(Non-ductal) to secrete insulin via the islets of Langerhans
What is the NL AP measurement of the pancreas?
<3 cm
What vessels supplies the pancreas?
Celiac axis, Superior mesenteric, and Splenic artery (head, body, tail).
Where is the stomach located in corresponding to the pancreas?
Stomach overlies the anterior border of the panc body and tail.
What are the following Spatial relationships of the pancreas anatomy
-IVC, Duodenum, CBD, GDA, SMA/SMV, Panc Tail
IVC anterior panc head
Duodeum Medical panc head
CBD- Post/LAt to Panc head
GDA- Ant/Lat to Panc head
SMA/SMV- Posterior panc neck. Anterior to Uncinate process
Panc tail- Ant/Med to splenic Hilum
Where is the ___ to the pancreas?
Ao
CA
SMA
Posterior
Superior border of panc
Inferior border of panc
What vessels come off the CA?
Left gastric artery to Common hepatic artery and the Splenic artery
Where does the Splenic artery go?
Along the Superior boarder of the Panc Body and tail.
What does the common hepatic artery divided into?
PHA and the gastroduodenal artery
Where does the PHA go ?
Superior to the liver to the PV and LT bile duct
Where does the RT gastric artery branch from?
PHA
Where does the GDA divided into?
- where does it travel along?
RT gastroepiploic artery
Superior pancreaticodupdenal artery
- Posterior to the first part of the duodenum thenn Anterior to the panc head
Where is the SMA located?
Inf to Panc
Ant to uncinate process
Ant to the 3rd portion of the duodenum
Where is the splenic v. located?
Post aspect of the panc
