What is the equation for speed?
Speed=distance/time
On a distance time graph what does a horizontal line represent?
A stationary object
On a distance time graph what does an object moving at a constant speed look like?
A straight line that slopes upwards
What represents an objects speed in a distance-time graph?
The gradient of the line
What is velocity?
Speed in a given direction
What is acceleration?
Change of velocity per second. The unit is meters per second squared
What is the equation for acceleration?
Acceleration = change of velocity/time taken
What is deceleration?
Negative acceleration-the change of velocity per second when an object is slowing down
What does a horizontal line mean on a velocity-time graph?
The acceleration is zero
What does the gradient represent on a velocity-time graph?
The acceleration
How is distance traveled represented on a velocity-time graph?
The area under the line
