Overview Of Urinary System Flashcards
Innervation of kidney
Sympathetic: lesser splanchnic (T10-T11), least splanchnic (T12), lumbar splanchnic (L1&L2) nerves
Parasympathetic: vagus nerve
Lymphatic drainage of kidney
Lumbar lymph nodes
3 sites of constrictions of ureter
- Pelvi-ureteric junction
- Entrance into pelvic brim
- Entrance into bladder
Structure of urinary bladder
Mucosa (folded)
Muscular coat (detrusor muscle)
Trigone (triangular area on base of bladder)
Blood supply of urinary bladder
- Superior and inferior vesical artery
* Vesical venous plexus around neck - drain into internal iliac vein
Nerve supply of urinary bladder
Sympathetic: T11-L2 spinal segments
Parasympathetic: pelvic splanchnic nerve (S2-S4)
- motor to the detrusor muscle
Lymphatic drainage of urinary bladder
Drain into external iliac node
