Start as 1 cell (Zygote) as feotus then divides through mitosis into more

No specifc function, but can become any other cell. Good for medical research
What are connective tissues
E.g Bones, ligaments, cartalige, blood
To protect other structures
E.g Bone has to be strong + rigid
Muscle has to be elastic

Unit of matter
Make up molecules which make up cells
What is the role of the nucleus
To insruct all actions in the cell. Has its own DNA
What is the role of ribosomes
Take orders from nucleus + Synthasise proteins
What is cytoplasm
Helps maintain shape of cell

Designed to expand and contract when force is produced or released

“small organs” with specialised roles

Manage all the waiste in cell
Break down proteins and get rid of them as waiste

Produces energy if needed

Group of membranes making canal to cytoplasm
